About MageMentor.com

Welcome to MageMentor.com. I started making money online in 2000, when I created my first website – an ecommerce store focused on direct product sales. Now, I’ve never bought anything from a “guru” before, but in November 2009, I happened across the WPMage system by Greg Jacobs and was blown away. If you’ve made it to my site, you probably already know all about the system, so I won’t go through the details. You can find everything you need to know at the Official site. The support system at the WPMage Forums is excellent, and I try to contribute as much as I can (I go by username “sasson”), but I noticed that, every so often, a post will appear from someone who purchased the program weeks (or months) earlier and just couldn’t figure out to get started. Several other Mages have done a great job putting up sites that detail their progress and give advice, so I don’t necessarily want to duplicate their efforts. Instead, I’m here to help anyone who needs more direct assistance. There are a million different ways to set up a Mage site, so I’m always hesitant to say what’s “best”. Instead, I prefer to [...] Read more...

What is WP Mage and How Does it Work?

In it’s most basic form, WP Mage is a set of autoblogging tools in the form of three core Wordpress plugins.  Each performs a different function, but they work together in powerful ways The Mage Plugins Affiliate Mage – This stores the settings required to monetize your site.  All you really need to do here is enter your affiliate information for the supported programs (EPN, Amazon, Clickbank, Chitika, Linkshare). Content Mage – This stores the information on how each individual content source will be displayed on your site.  In most cases, the default works just fine and you do not need to make any changes here. Posting Mage – In my opinion, this is where Mage really packs a punch and is what you’ll really need to understand.  Basically, Posting Mage is a templating system that allows you take your content sources (articles, photos, videos, affiliate products) and lay out your posts any way you’d like.  Once you’ve set up the appropriate templates, you can then input your keyword list and date range to easily add hundreds, or thousands of posts within minutes.  I know this is an overly simplistic description of what Posting Mage does, so I encourage you to review [...] Read more...

Mage Monster

If you haven’t already heard, Mage Monster is set to be released on July 12, 2011.  To field all the questions I’ve been getting, I’ve decided to put together a new Mage Monster site specifically for the launch. I’ll be putting up a full review once it’s available.  Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks, Sasson Read more...

A Worthwhile Read

Sorry I haven’t had a chance to post recently, but I came across a link to a blog post that I wanted to pass along: http://railstips.org/blog/archives/2010/01/12/i-have-no-talent/ Essentially, it’s a few paragraphs by a guy who attributes his “success” to hard work, and not raw talent or smarts.  It’s in the context of being a programmer, but I think the same applies to Internet Marketing.  Anybody can do this…it’s just a matter of taking the time and putting in the work to learn how to do it right. Catalyst Theme Coupon

I wanted to share a coupon for my current favorite theme – Catalyst.  They don’t offer discounts very often, so if you’ve be thinking about trying it out, now is the time. The Catalyst Theme Coupon is only valid today and tomorrow (April 23 – April 24, 2011). Use coupon code “EASTER20” to get a 20% discount off either the Personal version or the Developer version.  As an FYI, the Developer version of the theme is actually no different than the Personal version…you just get additional theme support.  You can use the theme on an unlimited number of sites with either version, so the Personal version is fine for most people. Catalyst is a framework theme, which provides it with the flexibility to create just about any design you can think of.  Keep in mind, though, that this isn’t the type of theme that you just install and use with the default settings.  In order to take advantage of the theme, you’ve got to take the time to configure it.  It’s generally easy to use, and once you get the hang of it, the possibilities are really limitless. There’s really no need to buy another theme after you own Catalyst. [...] Read more...

Autoblog Blueprint 3.0

I just wanted to give a quick reminder that the Autoblog Blueprint 3.0 is launching February 9th.  Some of the material has already been provided to existing members, and I’m starting to go through it myself.  So far, it looks like Mike Johnson has done a great job with this latest update. It’s really refreshing to see someone who really cares to update his product as things are constantly evolving.  I’ve been a member since version 1.0 and it just keeps getting better and better.  If you’re not already a member, I suggest you sign up during the launch.  I’ll post back here if I’m able to get a hold of any Autoblog Blueprint coupon codes or discounts.
